Kung Pao is a superb son sired by the legendary Accoyo El Nino.  "His compact size, striking well covered head with a short muzzle, and extremely dense high character, microbundled fleece are a near replica of his sire" as described in the 2009 Parade of Champions Auction Catalogue!  Kung Pao also has a highly uniform fleece through to his belly, shoulder, hip and right up his neck and into his topknot, just like his sire.  His fineness (14.5 microns) combined with his density are phenomenal!

Kung Pao is exclusive to Sumaq Valley Alpacas.

El Nino's accomplishments are well known - numerous Herdsire of the Year and Get of Sire awards, but Acacia, Kung Pao's dam, has a proven show record as well.  Some of her ribbons include:

1st - (class of 9) MAPACA Eastern Jubilee
2nd - 2006 Futurity Show and Sale
3rd - (class of 13) 2006 Alpaca Western Extravaganza
3rd - (class of 12) 2006 AOBA National Show
RESERVE CHAMPION (2nd in class) - 2007 Alpaca Western Extravaganza
2nd - (class of 13) 2007 MAPACA Eastern Jubilee
3rd - (class of 10) 2007 AOBA National Show
BEST HANDLE - (as a 4 year old) 2009 Western Alpaca Extravaganza Fleece Show

Kung Pao's second year fleece is as impressive as his first and he still maintains the "striking" head he had as a cria!  Kung Pao's first offspring arrived in 2011 and they are impressive!

As described by Snowmass Alpacas, Royal Distinction is one of their "most regal, strong, upstanding, knock out looking Royal Challenger sons". Snowmass Royal Challenger is one of the finest standing Royal Rose sons in the US.  He has produced offspring of extraodinary consistency in fineness and colour and overall extensive fine wool coverage from head to toe. Royal Challenger's 6th year histogram was a remarkable AFD 20.9, SD 4.4, CV 21.1, 3.4>30, 49.4 curvature. His lineage is unique, being a direct son of one of the finest Peruvian Allianza white import females, Ppperuvian Edelweis. He has won too many shows to list, of which include more then 5 Championships. His progeny are right in step with many, many awards.

Royal Distinctions dam, Snowmass Silky Sunshine, is Snowmass' number one Quechua/Accoyo Pacabell daughter. She is an extremely well put together, stand out female who sold for 49K at the 2011 Snowmass Making of Champions Sale. Silky Sunshine is only one of a handful of Quechua daughters and she is truly an outstanding female and producer. Two of her offspring remain at Snowmass Alpacas.

There is no better looking male than Snowmass Royal Distinction. He has an extremely dense, dark fawn fleece with great distinction in bundling and crimp. This stud has extreme coverage like his sire and dam and leads the Royal Challenger fleece weight production with 5.5 lbs of sorted prime fleece with another 4.3 lbs of high grade seconds.

Royal Distinction is the perfect male to bring a balance of high, fine fleece yield on a strong, large frame. He carries a unique and valued pedigree. Royal Distinction will begin breeding at Sumaq Valley Alpacas early in the 2011 breeding season.

Impressario is an impressive male with an incredible fleece. He has a very tight, yet deep crimp style and the crimp is very uniform. Impressario also has a very strong and respectable pedigree. His dam, Mile High Peruvian Genesee, is a three time Colour Champion and a female that has produced high quality/show champion offspring just like her dam.

Impressario's sire, Accoyo Latigo (a Poseidon son) is an impressive stud with an equally impressive third year fleece. He too is a two time Champion. He was more than ready to begin his breeding career at 23 months of age so was retired from showing quite early.

Impressario was shown once before we purchased him and he placed 2nd in a large class. The 1st place male (who we also looked at) went on to win Grand Champion but we think Impressario had the better fleece hands down so we bought him! The fleece picture to the right includes Impressario's fleece on top and his sire's third year fleece underneath.  Impressario's 2nd and 3rd year fleeces are as impressive as his first!

Impressario's first offspring, SVA Impressario's Apollo was born in 2010 and he was 2nd at his first show!

Teemu is a fantastic looking young male that we added to our herd in April, 2007. In our search for another great, coloured male, we were excited to find a brown male out of 4Peruvian Ares as his fineness, even as a 12 year old, is exceptional! And Teemu's got tons of colour on his dam's side including a true black dam.

Teemu has very good character and great density. His coverage is exceptional and he's got a solid, big boned frame. We look forward to showing him more over the next year!

Teemu settled his first females in August 2008 and we had two females and a male in 2009!  Teaberry is a beautiful brown female with great lustre and coverage.  Eemil is a big boned brown male and Teease is a cute little white female.  All can be seen on our "Cria" page.  We bred a few girls to Teemu in 2009 and are expecting two in 2010.
