We were so happy with Kelowna's Sparks a Flying, we bought her full sister, Kelowna's Salsa Sass. The two girls were identical as cria.

Sassy has many ribbons to her credit including Grand Champion Female in 2005. She has great bone and coverage and a very nice head. Sassy's fibre is what really stands out though - even with her extreme fineness, she has very good density and her histogram at 7 years of age is quite impressive!

Sassy had a beautiful Snowmass Braveheart daughter in 2006 (Tenderheart) and an outstanding William daughter in 2008 named Sweet 'n Sassy!

Sassy had another beautiful William daughter named Sage on May 19, 2010. Sassy had a Kung Pao son in 2011 (SVA Kung Pao's Confucious) who placed 3rd behind another Kung Pao son at the 2012 CNASF.

Orca has given us three girls in a row now and they are getting better and better every year!  Her 2010 cria, SVA Teemu's Teeaberry is very nice and was singled out by the judge at the 2011 Salmon Arm Fall Fair as being an extremely good looking alpaca, conformationally.  In 2011, we got another female out of Orca, SVA Prophet's Enchantress, who probably has the best fleece so far so we will be retaining her in our herd as well so can now offer Orca for sale!

Star Gazer's dam is a beautiful Ivano daughter, RFA Crystal Star.  She showed well and was a Reserve Champion.  She has given us 4 males to date, but all four have been very nice.  Her last two, a D'arcy and a William, both sold prior to weaning!

Star Gazer has perfect conformation on a nice strong frame.  So far, his fleece has good character, density, and fineness.  He has a very nice disposition as well just like his dam!

It is not very often you see a fleece of this quality in such a dark animal!  Epic's sire however, has a very good fleece with excellent density.

Epic's conformation and coverage are also very good and we look forward to showing him in 2009!

UPDATE: Epic was 1st in his class at the Salmon Arm Fall Fair.  He was also the only alpaca in the show to be handed both a "Best Handle" card and a "Best Brightness" card.  In both of those classes he was beaten by a William offspring but it was close!

OACL DC Jenna 118

Jenna is from one of the last Peruvian imports and has been a good producer for us. Her 2003 Pistachio daughter sold at a year old, her 2004 Fibre Works Diamonte (a NGG Lional son) son, Masked Bandit won Grand Champion Coloured Male, and her 2006 Tell Blackaholic son, Chocaholic, won his class at the 2007 Pacific Coast Show!

At 6 years of age, this fawn female had a remarkable histogram: AFD 21.5 SD 4.0 CV 18.6 %>30 2.8. This year, at 10 years of age, Jenna is still 25 microns and has exceptional character. She is conformationally sound and has excellent coverage. She is a good mother (very protective) and an easy keeper.

Lineage Sire

Sumaq Valley's Lucky Charm

Lucky has perfect conformation and exceptional coverage. His fleece is lustrous and soft with amazing staple length. Lucky has ALL colour in his background so we're hoping he throws colour when bred to colour. We took Lucky to two shows in 2003 and he did great! At Alpacafest (2003) he placed 3rd in a huge class of 20 of the best males in Canada. His fleece weight was a remarkable 4.1lbs, blanket only! At the Chilliwack Exhibition (2003), he won his class. And besides all this, Lucky has a nice disposition.

2008: AFD 20.0, SD 4.1, CV 20.4, 1.5>30

Seven is a beautiful young female. She is the only offspring of Sumaq Valley's Lucky Charm in Canada as he now resides in the US. We named her Seven because she was born on July 7th of 2007.

We can't say enough about Seven's dam, Jenna. Jenna is an incredible Peruvian fawn import who has outstanding crias regardless of who she's bred to. She has produced Champions such as Sumaq Valley's Masked Bandit and Sumaq Valley's Chocoholic. Seven is sure to follow in their footsteps. Jenna's micron remains in the low 20's even though she is 11 years old now and her density is amazing.

Seven has great conformation like her sire and dam with solid bone and great coverage. Her fibre is very fine and the crimp is very well defined and tight. Seven would be an asset to any breeding program.

Heatwave is a terrific looking male. He is a full brother to Sumaq Valley's Lucky Charm (also a multiple ribbon winner) but coloured and with an even better fleece!

Heatwave has ribboned at every show he's been to including 2nd at the 2006 CNASF in a huge class of 14, and 1st at the 2006 IPE Show.

Heatwave has perfect, strong conformation on a solid boned frame and carries himself like a true stud. His coverage is amazing and he has a beautiful head. Heatwave has outstanding fibre - deep, tight crimp, nice bundling, and great staple length typical of all Peruvian Peralta offspring. Peralta is a dark brown and Heatwave's dam, Nola, is a dark fawn so he's got a lot of colour in his background!

UPDATE: Heatwave's 2007 histogram is now posted!

Elixir is a fantastic, dark coloured male with excellent fibre and excellent conformation. Elixir is out of one of our favourite males, Peruvian Peralta. Peralta is a dark brown and was only 17 microns at 3 years of age. He has produced ribbon winning offspring in every colour including grey, white, and black! Examples of other Peralta offspring, such as Sumaq Valley's Deelight, Sumaq Valley's Deeva, Sumaq Valley's Heatwave, and Sumaq Valley's Deelirious, can be seen on our website. Sumaq Valley's Lucky Charm is also a Peralta offspring as is listed on our AN site as well.

Elixir is out of a true black female, E'clipse. E'clipse is a typey little female with awesome coverage! She is one of our favourites and has a couple 2nd place ribbons to her credit.

We think Elixir is going to be an awesome male. His fibre has looked good since the day he was born. It has a nice deep crimp, it is consistent through the blanket, hip and neck, and it is incredibly soft! We would like to retain 5 breedings to him however, should he sell.

UPDATE: Elixir placed 3rd at the 2006 CNASF in a class of 12. He was the youngest (7 months) in his class but has a very soft fleece with excellent crimp!

At the 2006 A.L.P.A.C.A. Odyssey Show, Elixir placed 2nd in a huge class of 14 blacks and was the finest in the class!

Batman is a solid bay black with no spots. He has good crimp, he is a solid boned young male and is growing like a weed! Batman has great staple length and nice square conformation.

Batman's sire is the well known AVA Guivir Zorro owned by R&R Alpacas. Zorro is known for throwing some of the best blacks in Canada.

Batman's dam is Kelowna's Lady Aberdeen. She is a bay black PCA Palomino daughter / Pperuvian Camilio granddaughter. Every cria she has produced for us has had very good character and every cria has been out of a different sire. She is a solid boned female with a nice disposition.

Because we have so few blacks in our herd, there would be no work for Batman at our farm so he must sell. Batman has been weaned and is ready to leave!
